I’ve had a lot of gay friends in my life. Sam Anderson, a KU Prof who taught Russian and German, was one. I met him on the raquetball courts, and that launched a deep friendship. He taught me so much about art, lit, music, Latin… It crushed me when he died in 1994. I have no use for the moronic bigots who attack gays, since they don’t grasp it’s not a choice, it’s how one is wired. I mean, how would they handle it if they were wired the same way? We’re all meant to live together, and accept one another, period. Hopefully that attitude will eventually cover the world. These shots are of Sam and me in Prague, 1990.
