Poco at Liberty Hall

Saw Poco last Friday night in Lawrence with Brown Eyes.  Liberty Hall.  Drinks with friends beforehand at the Eldridge, then crossed the street to one hell of a fine show.  Joint was full of old hippies, young hipsters, and a phalanx of people somewhere in between.  Sold out.

So fine to hear that sound again, this band that influenced so many others: Eagles, Jackson Browne, Pure Prairie League…  Richie Furay even came out and played with them after finishing his set: mandolins, steel guitars, and that incredible harmonizing.  I loved the vibe of it all.  Felt like the concerts of old.

  1. I’m extremely jealous – wish I could have seen this show. Crazy Eyes is one of my favorite albums – top 5. Ah, the memories.

  2. Well actually I was surprised not seeing you there, rocking out with all the other young hipsters up by the stage. What happened?
